Using Universal Laws to Deal With Financial Difficulties

By Melanie Valderrama

I was talking to a friend of mine recently who is having financial difficulties and she asked me what I would do in her shoes. I told her that the very first thing she needs to do is write down everything she’s grateful for. I’ve heard it said that gratitude and depression cannot exist together.

Next, I told her to make a list of what she doesn’t want to have happen and turn it around into what she does want to have happen. For example, if she doesn’t want to worry about bills, she should restate that to say that she wants her bills paid quickly and easily. If she feels that she doesn’t have enough money, she should restate that to say that she is prosperous and money flows to her freely. Then I told her to focus on the positive statements and write a short statement to say every day at least ten times: “I am so happy and grateful now that I am prosperous and money flows to me freely. My bills are paid quickly, easily and on time. I am blessed! I am blessed! I am blessed!”

Because I want my friend to have some tools available to her that she can use daily, I shared the seven laws of success with her and how this situation relates to each one.

The Law of Perpetual Transmutation states that circumstances and things are perpetually coming or going according to your thoughts. If you want money to come into your life, you need to create a new idea by visualizing what you want your life to look like. Then, focus on prosperous thoughts and how they make you feel. This will cause things to happen behind the scenes which will bring you the success you ultimately want.

The Law of Relativity states that your situation is not fundamentally good or bad until you compare it to something else. No matter how bad you think things are, you are better off than someone else. As long as I have food, clothes, shelter, running water, electricity, and a car, I know that my life is great. If you still feel bad about your life, get out and serve someone that is worse off than you are.

The Law of Vibration states that your thoughts control your personal vibration. Change your thoughts, get emotional about them, and you’ll change what is attracted to you. Get excited that money is coming your way! This is where saying the short statement ten times every day would come in handy to help raise your vibration.

The Law of Polarity states that everything has an opposite. A bad situation is equally good. Look for the good, and more good will be on its way. Say you’re having a hard time coming up with the money to pay a utility bill. The good that can come out of that is that maybe that’s the motivation you need to research an additional income source which will help you over and over in the future.

The Law of Rhythm states that when you feel down, be grateful, knowing that, by law, there is an upswing coming. If you’re currently feeling low due to your financial circumstances, get excited that an upswing is coming!

The Law of Cause and Effect states that that every cause has an effect, and every effect has a cause. Nothing happens by chance. Give to charity, which will create a flow of prosperity to return to you.

The Law of Gender states that in all of creation there is male and female in every kind. For life to perpetuate, there must be one to plant the seed and one to grow and nourish the seed. The Law of Gestation states that every seed has an incubation period. Choose to create a new idea seed in the right environment for growth. This might be in the form of an additional source of income and have faith that the seed you plant has a finite date and that it will manifest as long as you remain faithful and don’t entertain doubt or worry.

Another key factor to success is to act on any inspiration you receive. If you feel the need to call a friend to find out what they’re currently doing, research an additional income source or take a class, you show faith in your new idea by taking action. Learning and applying each of the universal laws will help in any situation you encounter in your life.
