Meet Mindset Mastery Graduate Heidi Dahlke.
Heidi has shown demonstrable growth as she moved through various Rare Faith programs, including Sales School and enrolling in the Facilitator track.
As with all of our Mindset Mastery graduates, I had some questions for Heidi:
Q. What was your experience with the Phase 1 experiment? (The “inconsequential goal”)
A. I am taking a few minutes to post about an inconsequential goal. My mom has been gone almost 7 years now. I set my goal to be able to hear a story about my mom. I imagined it might come from someone in my local area, but I just set it and let it go.
About a month after I set the goal, I was at my brother’s house when he stopped mid-sentence and said, ‘I think I have something for you’.
He pulled out a little silver band from his safe and extended it toward me explaining that this was my mom’s engagement band. He had found it in some of my mom’s things and had been saving it for some reason. I never knew that my mom had an engagement band. My parents picked out their wedding rings after the engagement.
As I look back on that experience, I realize how much Heavenly Father wants to bless me. I was excited about a story, but now I also have a beautiful ring to keep her and her memory close.
“All this or something better!” What I love about this story of her inconsequential goal, is how God was able to take a simple request, and then give her her request and so much more.
So it is with ALL of our dreams, no matter how big or small they are. I believe God’s greatest desire is to not only give us all that we desire, but also so much more, if we can just keep the door to belief open.
Great job, Heidi!
Q. What was your bite-sized Phase 2 “difficult, meaningful, or important” goal?
A. New washer & dryer. My washer & dryer have been barely working for quite some time. A refund came from somewhere unexpected, bringing in enough to replace both at the same time.
The unexpected is how God loves to do things! I like to say that God loves a photo finish! When we don’t let ourselves get stuck in the “how”, we open the space for things like an unexpected refund to show up, making what we want possible in ways we couldn’t have planned for.
(If you want to participate in a group study of dozens of miracle stories where God shows off His photo finishes, consider joining a session of Miracles Made Simple.)
Q. What was your experience facing a fear from assignment/lesson 18? How effective were you at being able to think truth in spite of appearances?
A. It took a little while to be able to do this without emotion. I allowed myself a few days to just be present and grateful. As I imagined the scenario that brought the most fear, I was able to step back and look at it, it became just a circumstance. Not good or bad, just something I could learn and grow through.
This is an excellent example of how to appropriately use the Law of Relativity. She didn’t assign some false positive meaning to a fearful scenario. Unless we can TRULY feel positive, our subconscious will continue to run in the same program that was running the fear to begin with.
By feeling genuine gratitude, and approaching the circumstance as something that she knows she could learn and grow through, she has now given her subconscious the permission it needed to let go of the fear and simply “keep calm and watch what happens.”
This is one of the more challenging principles to apply, and she did it beautifully!
Q. Did you experience a Terror Barrier Breakthrough during the course?
A. I set a goal for my health for the next 6 months. I saw a new class being offered through Rare Faith called Live Life Lean. I heard about the class the last day and I was already feeling stretched thin with my family, work and my Mindset Mastery class.
The price of the class scared me as I’ve never spent that much on myself. I knew that I had decided my health was important and this felt like a good fit, so I jumped.
“So I jumped.” Sometimes, if not the majority of the time, our next step will feel like jumping off a cliff and into the darkness, but we aren’t really jumping into darkness.
Heidi had already set a health goal, and when an opportunity presented itself to her, she was intuitively drawn towards it. It wasn’t an arbitrary or random jump; it was just the terror barrier showing up after she had already set her goal for improved health. If you notice, it wasn’t the class itself that scared her, but the price of the class. She chose to set the fear aside, move forward on a goal already set, and she jumped.
Q. What would you tell someone who is facing their fear right now?
A. What you want is waiting right on the other side of it.
Yes! Our desires are always just waiting for us on the other side of our fears. They want us just as much as we want them, so just keep your feet moving, and you will reach all you’ve been dreaming of!
Well done, Heidi! We look forward to hearing more about your experience in the Live Life Lean course.
