I am excited to tell you all about a fascinating law of the Universe called the Law of Relativity. This law was first introduced to me by Leslie Householder, author of the bestselling book “The Jack Rabbit Factor“. She described it as “Your situation is not fundamentally good or bad until you compare it to something else…”
I think we all want to be happy and get great results in life, right? The absolute best way to do that is by keeping a perception, attitude, and energy of emotion that is as positive as possible. We get more of who we are and what we send out into the world. And, the absolute best positive vibe you can send out is gratitude. Sending out lots of gratitude and other positive emotions means that you will be more able to help yourself and others, and then people will be more willing to help you.
How does the Law of Relativity help you do that? Simple! This law helps direct your focus and find the best of every situation. When something happens, that something is not “good,” “bad,” “right,” or “wrong” – it just is. As human beings, it is our unique privilege and ability to choose and attach whatever meaning we want to a situation.
This means that when something apparently terrible or problem some to most people happens, we can choose to attach a positive meaning. When we are able to do that, we stand heads above shoulders higher than the crowds.
Ultimately, this law allows us the freedom and gives us the responsibility to choose how anything must affect us at anytime. It is always our choice, our decision. The law is working constantly, it never stops, and it works accurately every time. It allows us the option to choose at any moment.
I intentionally utilize the Law of Relativity to my advantage. I know that I must feel better and attract better results to me when I am feeling positive. When I’m feeding my new born son a bottle at 1 a.m. and he doesn’t want to go back to sleep yet, I choose to attach a feeling of gratitude and love for him and our time together. When our car gets a huge dent in the passenger side door during the night, I choose to be grateful that the doors still open and close perfectly. I really am grateful for all the positives and blessings in my life and I know that I am receiving more all the time, because I am focusing on what I want and that will be returned to me, again and again.
In summary, the Law of Relativity is an important law to support us in focusing, finding, and attaching positive meaning to the events of life. The greatest emotion we can experience, in order to receive more in life, is gratitude. Gratitude is most easily felt and given when we enact the Law of Relativity.
Do this now by comparing your bad situations to those of others who have experienced worse situations than your own and choose to attach a grateful, positive meaning to them.
