Allow this Law to Work for You

By Travis Giauque

Have you ever sat back and wondered, “Where am I headed” or “What do I want to do, or be, when I grow up”? If you are like me, then this thought has passed over the screen of your mind on multiple occasions, irregardless of age or circumstance. At times I find it comical in a sense, as the internal debate rises within me of “what do I want to be when I grow up”. Comical because I am considered a “grown up” and should already have my direction set and well pursued, right?

My wife and I were in a discussion the other day as I contemplated what I wanted to be when I “grow up” as well as the Law of Perpetual Transmutation. I asked her about any certain instance that she could think of that would relate to the Law of Perpetual Transmutation. I couldn’t quite put my finger on any one instance, and sought her insight on the topic. She looked at me, with a slight smile, and said, “That’s our whole life.”

In that moment, it clicked. She was absolutely correct! During our course of twelve years of marriage, life has taken several different turns for us. As our “life” has continued down an unclear path, we have been blessed with the increase of children and employment opportunities, each moment and opportunity blessing us more and more. However, as we have continued down this path, there is a void that needs to be filled.

When we were first married, the sky was the limit. No dream was too big, no mountain too tall. Our dreams were crisp and precise. Well, “life” continued on and we felt the anxiety of making ends meet, unforeseen expenses and other responsibilities that had a tendency to weigh us down. And, unbeknownst to us, our dreams began to fade and desire waned as we focused on the month to month demands.

The question may come up – “How does this apply to the Law of Perpetual Transmutation?” Or perhaps, “What is the Law of Perpetual Transmutation?” As we read in the book Hidden Treasures, authored by Leslie Householder, this law states, “That’s just a fancy way of saying that everything is either coming into physical form or going out of it.” In order to help understand this statement and how it applies to our lives, in whatever area we choose, this law is taught by an example of water and the multiple forms it can take.

Water can be in the form of a gas, a cloud, rain, and lastly in a solid state of ice. However, we know by our personal experiences with water, that this transformation can reverse at any given moment. For example, just because gases gather into the form of a cloud doesn’t guarantee that it will continue to build and turn into rain. No, the form of a cloud can dissipate at any given time and return to its form of gas.

Thus it is with our thoughts and how they become realized in our lives. Each thought, or desire, or dream that we have in our earthly existence, is realized as we maintain that thought and believe that is will be attained. For instance, during the course of my life, I have received different occupations because I thought that such an opportunity would bring about the desired results for me and my family. This thought continued until additional opportunities came about and things “fell” into place and the thought was realized. As this opportunity continued, it began to overrule our desire to obtain our original, larger dream in life. Thus, the original dream began to wane and we began to lose hope that such would not be attained. Our dream dimmed and faded as we became side-tracked on other stresses of life and our thoughts turned from those of anticipation to ones of dismay. So, as our dream was real and beginning to form in our behalf, it had reversed and began to return to its state of “gas” distancing itself from the physical state of ice; or reality in the now.

I have received a great sense of relief at the knowledge that my goals will happen, by law as long as I let them develop without doubt or fear. In doing so, my “life” can have all that I desire and find all that is good, thus eliminating the downs and depression of not realizing all that I have desired in the past. I know it will happen by law, just as you too can by the recipient of your desires by this Law of Perpetual Transmutation. In short, this law states, “Circumstances and things are perpetually coming or going according to your thoughts.”
