Peace with Stand Still

The Law of Polarity says everything of consequence has an opposite of equal degree. Yes has no, up has down. In order to understand one we need the other. I can’t appreciate being happy if I have never felt sorrow. Consider hot and cold. They are both temperatures but they are on opposite ends of the spectrum and the severity of each is a comparison which doesn’t mean very much if we only have one or the other.

“Every adversity, every failure, and every heartache carries with it the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit.”
~Napoleon Hill

The more difficult or miserable my circumstance appears, the better it really is. Meaning there lies within it the possibility or seed of something equally wonderful or even better. I say the possibility of something wonderful because we have a choice. We can choose to embrace that something better or to ignore it or push it away. Our choices determine the outcome.

My husband and I are in the process of building a house. For many reasons this house is a really big deal for us. It is important to the fulfillment of multiple goals. Because of this it is not surprising that we have encountered a lot of opposition at every step we have taken to accomplish building our house. It is helpful that I recognize the difficulties as opposition and not as a sign that we should give up on the build. Currently the building has been at a stand still for 4 months. Because of new circumstances I am now grateful for the delay that was causing us so much stress before. I am looking at the situation as lessons in patience and faith, among other things. Because I am dedicated to the process and aware of the laws at work I know we will get the house built even if it’s not exactly when or how I thought I wanted it done.
