Life can be hard. One principle that brings me comfort when disappointment strikes is the Law of Polarity (as described in Hidden Treasures: Heaven’s Astonishing Help with Your Money Matters – a free download). And I’ve experienced its truth:
Contained in every adversity is the seed of equal or greater benefit. (Napoleon Hill)
But even though I understood this principle, it was still frustrating when I tried to get my book The Jackrabbit Factor published in 2005, but received letter after letter from publishers who weren’t interested. There was, however, one letter that stood out from the rest. I had studied the criteria of what the publisher was looking for, and was convinced that my book and their company was a match made in heaven. I was absolutely 100% confident that what I had written was exactly what they were looking for!
So when I got word that even THEY had rejected my book, I threw up my hands and decided to just publish it myself. In hindsight, I’m grateful I did. Self-publishing my books is the only reason I’ve been able to give them away for free, and to earn over a million dollars because of it. (More about that…)
Because that rejection letter ultimately changed my path for the better, it went down in history as “my favorite rejection” of all time.
Whenever I share the letter, those who have read my book The Jackrabbit Factor erupt with laughter. (Those who haven’t usually just grin, as they wonder what’s so funny.) With all due respect for the publisher who rejected me, (I hold no malice), I thought it might be inspirational to share the letter with you. I hope this helps you think of your rejections, and how you might be able to see them in a different, happier light:
So, take a fresh look at your obstacles and setbacks. If something seems bad now, think of it as a blessing in disguise. By law, it must contain the potential for something phenomenal. What could the blessing be?

Looking for the upside to your challenges (and being grateful for them before you even know what’s good about them), can put you in position to receive incredible blessings. On the other hand, when you focus only on the inconvenience of your obstacle, you can miss the blessing altogether.
