The other day I ran into a friend that I hadn’t seen in over ten years. He asked me what I was doing and it gave me the opportunity to let him know what I had been up to. I let him know that I had been teaching public speaking for 10 years and was getting ready to expand from the college environment to personal public speaking and life coaching.
When I mentioned life coaching he asked me what that was, and in the process I mentioned the Laws of the Universe. I could see a blank and realized that he had no clue what I was talking about.
Like most people I first heard to the Laws of the Universe when Rhonda Byrne came out with her book – “The Secret.” I remember watching “Oprah” and seeing all these people speaking about the Law of Attraction. As I studied further I discovered Leslie Householder’s faith-based research on the topic, and found that there were actually seven of these laws. I came to realize that these laws work together and help people realize a better life. I also realized that my religious faith had always taught me these laws but gave them different names.
So what are the laws of the universe? Before this question can be answered we need to realize that there is one great law – theologians call it God; scientists call it Energy. This debate has been going on for centuries. For most of the history of man, theology was the predominant belief system and science took a back seat. In the last century it seems the science has made its way to the forefront of beliefs. So when we speak of the Laws of the Universe there is one great law – that God/Energy Is.
Under this one great law are seven subsidiary laws – the Law of Perpetual Transmutation, the Law of Relativity, the Law of Vibration, the Law of Polarity, the Law of Rhythm, the Law of Cause and Effect, and the Law of Gender. The laws are natural laws that work no matter what the circumstance, they work in exact precision and are predictable – like the Law of Gravity. They work no matter who we are and they work 100% of the time.
From a science standpoint everything is made up of molecules and atoms, which are broken down into sub-atomic particles or our DNA. The theological view I carry says that each of the molecules and atoms carries with it intelligence, a consciousness so to speak that has potential that needs to be activated and released. So it really comes down to terminology. I come from a Judeo-Christian background so the idea of energy works but at the same time I believe God has to follow laws. He is so adept at using these laws that at the present time we just don’t have the understanding of how they are used.
People use these laws on a daily basis – whether they are aware of it or not. I have taken each of the laws and written previous articles on how they apply to public speaking. When you become aware of these laws and how they work; you can apply them and make the impossible possible. Each holds great power to change how you think and feel and change the results you get in your life.
