It’s not about the dollar figure

Meet Johnathan Barlow, Mindset Mastery Program Graduate:

When Johnathan showed up in our Mindset Mastery Facebook group, we knew he was prepared for the course – not because of how much he had already going for him, but because of how ready and willing he was to put the principles to the test. We’ve been so impressed with his ability to “stay calm and watch what happens” in multiple situations that would have rocked most people.

Here was his introduction to the Mindset Mastery Participants group:

Hello everyone. My name is Johnathan (John) Barlow. I was introduced to the Jackrabbit Factor April of this year. That led to me Leslie Householder’s other books, “Portal to Genius”, and “Hidden Treasures”. These books have been a huge turning point in my life because they have stretched my mind/thinking forever. I’ve sought to apply everything I’ve learned so far and have seen some big changes. I registered for the January Mindset Mastery [Guided] Program, and I am excited to master these principles so I can more fully live them and teach my family, business partners, and friends these true principles.

In the Mindset Mastery program, students complete assignments that are designed to exercise mental muscles and build evidence that Rare Faith principles, when applied, really work. Phase 1 goals are usually for testing the principles on something inconsequential. However, when John hit this part of the program, he decided to use the opportunity to set a goal for something that many would consider anything but inconsequential. I’m impressed with how he stayed calm, visualized, and really used the Law of Transmutation to accomplish his goal. Here is his story in his own words:

I had lost my wallet. It had been missing for 5 days. I looked everywhere. I called the stores that I had gone to, asking if my wallet had been left there. Still it was not found.

I [took] the time to visualize the wallet in my hand, and the emotions that I would feel once I found it. [When it didn’t show up when I hoped]…I once again prayed and repeated the visualization exercise, and I knew I was going to find the wallet that morning. I very quickly found the wallet, right before I had to head off to work.

He also applied rare-faith principles to a second inconsequential goal for good measure. He shared this vision statement with the Mindset Mastery Facebook Group:

Hello Mindset Mastery World!!

I am at the mid-term with the Guided Mindset Mastery program …our assignment is to select a small inconsequential goal and achieve it with the principles we have learned so far. Here is my goal statement:

“I am so happy and grateful now that I have received a new pair of 10.5 size Mens New Balance 574 Split Sail Athletic Shoe – Black / Gray / Red – for $10 or less. I am grateful I received these shoes prior to my cruise beginning of March 2020. I also use these shoes for running and playing basketball with my friends. They fit perfectly and boy do I love the smell of new shoes. I am most excited that I have tried, tested, and proven true that these mindset principles work and Heavenly Father Cares about the small details in my life!”

I will keep you all posted on the results! Thanks for letting me share.

Now for the fun. Here’s what happened:

The goal date was the cruise, which was about two weeks away. I wanted to get a pair of athletic shoes for $10 or less. I searched online and I went to several physical stores. I became pretty anxious about the goal as the deadline came closer and closer.

I then remember distinctly letting go of the stress, thinking, “I’ve done my part, if it’s going to happen the Lord will make it happen”. The day before the cruise, my wife and I were at Burlington Coat Factory Shopping for some items for my wife for the cruise, a store I had already gone to and checked for athletic shoes but found none. I thought I’m gonna need athletic shoes regardless, so let me go find a pair to buy, and to my great astonishment I found a brand-name pair of athletic shoes for $12. In fact, I got two brand name pair of athletic shoes for less than $30.

This was counted as a win because it’s really less about the dollar figure, and more about the feeling we think getting the item at that dollar figure will give us. If we stay too locked onto a particular number, we limit ourselves and can miss out on the experience of knowing we’ve been provided for, in whatever way was best.

The truth is, he got the perfect shoes at the perfect time, in time for the cruise at a truly incredible price. Rather than look at the $12 price tag with disdain, he chose gratitude that he was given exactly what he needed, and that he was easily able to pay the price. It wasn’t the dollar figure that mattered, it was the end that he intended, combined with the feeling that came with it.

Notice that. The feeling of wonder and gratitude he expected to feel when setting the goal still matched the experience that showed up, and that’s what matters.

I love what happens when these principles are put into action in everyday life. It really matters how we think. John’s determination to stay calm, visualize and feel peace in spite of appearances prepared him to partner with his wife when she needed it most. He explained:

My wife and I were attending a convention in Salt Lake City Utah. My wife was eight weeks pregnant at the time. She began having severe cramping and bleeding. We both became very worried. This is not typical for her past pregnancies. We completed the lesson 18 exercise. Both my wife and I were able to maintain a neutral emotional outlook. We were able to eliminate the negative feelings we were feeling. As a result, we took immediate action on the inspirations we received, and my wife now has a happy healthy pregnancy.

Did you notice the Laws of Cause and Effect and Transmutation in action? John and his wife moved their feet when instruction was given, and as a result, what they needed was drawn to them. We are so happy things turned out the way they did.

Well done John! It’s a powerful experience when you can unite with your loved ones in Rare Faith.

Although John was manifesting great things through this new way of thinking, he didn’t escape the terror barrier. It showed up and challenged him. Rather than entertaining the worry, doubt and fear that came up, he pushed forward and found a very powerful shift in focus. Here is what he had to say:

The terror barrier was that I was making zero progress towards one of my consequential goals. I prayed to seek inspiration on what to do. The thought that came to me was, if your long-term vision is to help gather Israel, start now to build God’s kingdom, by building up other people. As a result, you’ll build a large prosperous business.

So rather than focusing on what I wanted, which is more customers for my business for this particular goal, I started focusing on lifting others up and building them up regardless of whether or not they decided to subscribe to my business services. I felt instant relief and took action immediately.

Again, congratulations Johnathan! You are well on your way to a life of prosperous Rare Faith living.

In the Mindset Mastery program, students are instructed on the laws and principles that activate unseen help. That unseen help orchestrates resources, connections, and/or impressions that nudge the students toward all they need to realize their goal. In Phase 1, they practice what they’ve learned on an inconsequential goal – something NOT connected to anything they’re intensely concerned about. This helps them experience success without undue stress, to build the mental muscle memory they need to apply what they learn, and to then succeed with a goal of greater significance in Phase 2.
