All things are in a constant state of vibration. Science tells us that all substances liquid, solid and gas are made of molecules that are in a state of vibration. Not only does everything vibrate, but everything has its own specific vibration, just like a color or a musical note has a unique wavelength. This constant vibration is a medium for transferring signals, a means of communication.
Can we apply this law to our thoughts? Our minds are powerful, creative tools. James Allen said – “The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to be harmoniously related to his inner state… The soul attracts that which it secretly harbors; that which it loves, and also that which it fears… Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”
If I want to change my circumstance, it is necessary to change my mind and my vibration. By thinking new thoughts or ideas I change my mind. Changing my mind changes my state or vibration and by law it brings me into contact with the physical conditions created by my new ideas. It brings me into harmony with what I desire.
As we trudge through life on a subconscious level, spending very little effort on conscious thought, we can expect that we will continue to be in harmony with our undesirable surroundings until one day we make a conscious effort to change our vibration, bringing us into harmony with a brighter, grander prospect.
As I was working on my mentoring course it was my habit to reserve a free room at the Public Library so I could get some studying and writing done without the distractions of home. Over time I started feeling out of sink with the library. One day I was late and my room was given to someone else. This proved fortuitous as I went to a local restaurant with a table in a back room and found it to be a much more enjoyable space. I believe my vibration had something to do with this. The feel of this place is more uplifting and energizing than the library was. Over time the conscious choices I made and the effort I expended toward my goal of becoming a mentor raised my vibration so that I was led to a space more conducive to the realization of that goal.
I have discovered our minds are full of limiting beliefs. Thoughts and ideas we have created that limit our growth and our ability to change our vibration. Limiting beliefs hold us down, hold us back, and keep us from tuning into the frequencies where we will find the ideas we want. Limiting beliefs can run our lives on automatic pilot. It takes a conscious effort to look for and remove those ideas that are no longer serving us. A huge stumbling block for me was the belief that “I never finish anything”. It seems like a simple statement. The kind that we don’t really mean. But I said it frequently and I really meant it, deep down I believed it was true. It became true because I sabotaged all my efforts. Literally every time I started a project I would decide it was no longer interesting or sustainable or I would get discouraged and believe it wasn’t meant to be. My house was full of half finished crochet, knitting, sewing, and arts and crafts projects of all kinds. My yard still is a large unfinished DIY project. I still forget sometimes and call myself the Queen of Unfinished Projects. I have had many business ideas that could have gone somewhere but alas I was a college drop out so not qualified to be in business for myself. My limiting beliefs kept me stuck in a vibration that did not permit me to move forward with my goals or ideas. It has taken several years and lots of effort to root out those beliefs that were only true because I molded myself to them. Now I am raising my vibration to higher levels, letting go of the old and embracing a new and better reality.
