Unexpected Blessings and Overcoming Perfectionism

Meet Linda Stoor, Mindset Mastery Graduate. Linda’s journey through the Mindset Mastery course showcases our ability to transform personal challenges into opportunities for growth. From finding solace in a cherished hymn to achieving significant milestones in her business, Linda’s experiences show resilience and the unexpected ways in which support and answers can emerge.

Manifesting the Small: A Comforting Song

Linda’s Phase 1 experiment was deeply personal. She shared:

“I received several inconsequential goals, but my favorite and most meaningful was when I asked to hear the song ‘There Is a Green Hill Far Away’ in any form. It was one of my son’s favorite songs, he passed away 18 months ago. It has always been one of my favorite songs for as long as I can remember. I only found out it was also one of his favorites after he passed, when his girlfriend was part of the planning for his funeral. I would go through the visualization with emotion almost every day and it took about 3 weeks.

Linda explained how on a particularly challenging day, marked by financial stress and personal grief, with a feeling of upset in the home regarding her lack of progress in her business and other issues. Amidst this tension, Linda stayed focused on her goal and applied the principles she had learned from the gospel about the power of thought and faith.

Despite the emotional turbulence, she maintained a calm and neutral demeanor, avoiding defensive reactions to her husband’s frustrations. Instead, and acting on a thought she had, she used her late son’s phone to listen to music. To her surprise, the hymn she had wished to hear began playing.

“I broke down in tears, feeling the comfort and peace emanating from the song and in that particular moment was exactly what I needed to hear. The next song was ‘Be Still My Soul’ WOW! What an amazing Heavenly Father we have. I know He loves me so much and wants me to recognize His daily blessings, inconsequential as much as the consequential things. He does so many things for me to sustain me, to let me know that he’s here to help me succeed by helping me keep my vibration at a higher frequency of belief and faith in Him.”

This unexpected moment provided her with comfort and a renewed sense of connection, reinforcing her belief that even in difficult times, God has more in store for us than we can imagine.

Achieving the Big Goal: Enhancing Her Business

For her Phase 2 goal, Linda focused on improving her business. Her goal was written as follows:

“I am so happy and grateful now that I have received the help needed for editing my website and my Free PDF document for my business, by someone in a similar business as mine and has the knowledge to do so. My website is now up and running and my Free Information PDF is completed and edited, ready to send out to prospective clients as they request it from my landing page. Hundreds of people are eager to sign up for my “Live Life Better” 6 day challenge. People are happy and love purchasing my programs, services and products for total mind and body health because they feel real change in themselves. I love that God works through me to help His children now.”

Linda visualized needing help to edit and streamline her website and PDF document. She committed to working daily on these tasks, hoping for the right person to assist her. When her youngest daughter returned home for Christmas from a work assignment abroad, Linda saw an opportunity. While discussing her editing needs with her oldest daughter, she discovered that her youngest, who had been working on similar tasks for someone else, was well-qualified to help.

“I knew my youngest daughter has been learning and working with different healing modalities these past 2 years, working with trauma victims in sex trafficking. So she was very familiar with my line of work also, she piped up saying ‘Mom, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for Paul this past year editing his book. I can help you.’ I had no idea she had stepped into that role as well for him.”

Receiving help or answers in unexpected ways often brings delightful surprises. It shows that solutions can emerge from sources we hadn’t anticipated, highlighting the power of being open to new possibilities. This often reveals that support and answers can come in forms we hadn’t imagined, reinforcing the value of trusting that the answers are on their way.

Facing and Overcoming Fears

Linda’s experience with facing fear by thinking truth in spite of appearances involved confronting the fear of imperfection. She learned to move forward with her website and PDF without waiting for everything to be perfect.

“I was able to finish my website and my Free Information PDF document and not think it had to be perfect to publish it. That I will get the help that I need to edit them, when I need it, by moving forward in spite of the fear of it not being just right and sounding like I don’t know what I’m talking about.”

By focusing on progress rather than perfection, Linda overcame her fear and completed her tasks. As the saying goes, “Done is better than perfect.”

Terror Barrier Breakthrough

Throughout the course, Linda faced and overcame several terror barriers. She diligently worked on her projects, managed her time better, and accepted that imperfection is part of progress. Linda said,

“I pushed ahead daily working on my website and my Free PDF document, establishing a better utilization of my time for business and the belief that it doesn’t have to be perfect to move ahead and just get them up and running and published.”

Advice for Facing Fears

Linda offers valuable advice for those facing their fears:

“When reaching for a desired goal, the fear is nothing more than your subconscious mind accepting the new belief that you desire with emotion, creating confusion by going against the old negative belief as it moves into your body, your body then exhibits physical symptoms of feeling uncomfortable, anxiety, fear and dis-ease. It is trying to keep you in your comfort zone, where you feel safe, because you’re dealing with what you already know how to handle, even if it’s a place you no longer want to be in.

“Choose to move out of the comfort zone and move forward toward your desired goal, staying focused on that goal with visualization and attaching emotions of how it will feel when you attain it, in spite of the conditions or circumstances around you (by refusing to get emotional about them, and staying neutral). The Law of Vibration can take effect, you will begin to resonate on that frequency of vibration of your goal and draw to you all that is needed for you to come to the realization of that goal. The people, the circumstances and other things will begin to appear that will enable your goal to come to fruition.”

Linda’s experience in Mindset Mastery serves as a powerful reminder that faith, persistence, and openness to unexpected help can lead to transformative and fulfilling experiences. Thank you for sharing your journey, Lynda. Well done!
