Nothing Is Wrong with You

By Marcianne Stewart

Every three to four months, I felt “off.” Then my thoughts went down the rabbit hole

  • “Something is wrong,”
  • “I don’t like when this happens,”
  • “Life sucks,”
  • “I’ll never be able to….”

Then came the shaming thoughts:

  • “I’m broken,”
  • “I’ll never be enough,”
  • “I’m defective”, etc.,

Followed by a month of depression, binge watching a show or binge reading a book and isolating myself from family and friends—which only added to my shaming thoughts.  Then just as fast as the “off” feeling came, it would leave, and life would be back to “normal,” and I felt great, happy, and abundant—I felt unstoppable!  Then, “bam” the cycle would repeat itself.  I’m not sure if you resonate with some of these thoughts, or this cycle, or if you know someone who does.  From my experience, I found out that not only was I not alone, but many people resonated.

When I attended Genius Bootcamp through Rare Faith, I learned about the Mind Model and realized there was so much power in reframing my thoughts and tools to do that.  When life felt great, I read affirmations and reminders to reprogram my mind.  When the next “off” cycle came, I didn’t spiral into shaming thoughts.  Instead, I got curious and started asking questions like:

  • “I wonder why this is happening?”
  • “What am I learning through this?”
  • “How is this experience for my benefit?”

Although I still felt unmotivated, and I still binged on a show or book. It was a weird feeling to feel depressed/unmotivated, but not blame or shame myself with my thoughts! An improvement for sure! And yet, I still didn’t enjoy feeling that way for such a long time.

Then I took Mindset Mastery through Rare Faith. I learned about the different Success Principles.  Learning about the Law of Rhythm validated my experience.  Learning, that the down doesn’t have to be down—but merely a slowdown/plateau before my next big upswing empowered me!

When the next cycle came, I shifted my thinking once again, using phrases I learned through Mindset Mastery:

  • “All things are for my good.”
  •  “How is this for my good?”

The Law of Polarity taught me, as bad as something seems, there is something equally good.  My answer was to be grateful for the time to slow down, reflect on what’s working for me, and adjust where I’m going off course from my life goals.

Now when I start to feel “off” I get excited!  I’m grateful God gives me time to slow down, so I can speed up.  I tend to take on the world and then need a break! I find joy in celebrating the needed rest.  And guess what? Because of this mindset switch, I’m functioning during my “off” break.

  • I’m not isolating myself,
  • I’m not binging a show or book,
  • I’m not stopping all progress.

I’m using the Law of Perpetual Transmutation, and like Leslie Householder says, “When I have a choice, I choose to believe.”  Instead of doubting my goals and my path, I choose to believe and spend more time seeing my goals done and preparing for my next “take action” cycle!  And surprisingly, there is time to do both–watch a show or read a book with enjoyment, while still taking smaller steps and more breaks because I trust in the Success Principles.

If you’re reading this and resonating with some of my thought processes, I hope this inspires you to know—you or your loved one is not broken.  There is nothing wrong with you/them. You/They are a gift from God, and He created you/them, and as I’ve heard before, “God doesn’t make mistakes.” If you are unhappy with your thoughts, you have the power within you to learn, practice, grow and change!
