It’s been on my mind for months now, but I am finally going to write articles more regularly again.
I generally keep a journal and have done since I was a kid, but now I’ll be able sharing some of what’s going on, what I’m learning on my own journey to achieving a few crazy dreams in a more public way.
People keep asking me: “when’s your next seminar?” and I have to keep responding that I don’t have one on the agenda. See, we moved about 18 months ago and after spending 12-14 hours a day working on the new #5 national bestseller “The Jackrabbit Factor,” and “Hidden Treasures: Heaven’s Astonishing Help with Your Money Matters” it’s finally time to set up house. I’ve got to get organized before I go crazy. When one of the kids wakes up sick in the night, I shouldn’t have to wonder where all the medicine got stashed. When it’s time for dinner, I should be able to go to my pantry and know what’s in there.
Yes, I do plan on holding more seminars, but it’s time for me to put my life in order again… establish some parameters for balance. My family sacrificed so much for so long in order for me to get my message out in the books, I plan now to let the book(s) teach my message for a while. Funny, but I’ve noticed a pattern in how I operate: I run hard in the springtime, harder in the summer, and then in the fall I lose steam and have to regroup. The holiday season is all for family, and then come spring I get restless and have to get up and DO once again.
So here we are in the fall… I’ll keep working on the site facelift for ThoughtsAlive.com and write as I go. I’m trying to get an affiliate program lined up as well. I’m realizing that I can’t keep expecting to do everything myself… but I have a hard time handing things over to others. Oh yeah, we also plan to create the The Jackrabbit Factor audio book as well.
My husband and I are going to San Francisco this weekend to learn from one of our mentors. We expect to get a check-up from the neck-up so we can start thinking about putting our “team” together. It’s time to take our ventures to the next level and enlist a team to help us get things done. We’re finding that there’s more to do than we have time for. I think this is long since overdue.
Bit by bit I’m learning about little things I can do to save some time here and there. My local Safeway Grocery Store delivers groceries. I never looked into it because I was certain it wouldn’t be worth whatever extra fee they’d tack on… but I was wrong! What’s it worth to me, that I don’t have to decide what to do with the kids when I go, that I don’t have to spend three grueling hours in the Arizona heat browsing, loading, unloading, buying, carting, loading, driving, unloading, moving, unpacking, organizing…? By the time I get home I am usually too cranky and tired to put it all away.
Is it worth five to eight bucks to skip most of that? 🙂 And what’s even better, is when I made my selections online, the sale items were highlighted for me, and the product values were displayed. I know I saved at least eight bucks by simply not being where I could impulse shop. Shoot, I purchased five gallons of milk for ten bucks. (That much milk lasts our family about five days.)
Ah, the simple joys of life… like having one’s groceries delivered. I’m learning to leverage myself.
