Hi Friend,
Six years ago, my friend Amanda Wilkinson got the news that her daughter Gracelyn had been electrocuted from stepping on a live wire at her junior high school.
They been battling her health challenges ever since, even traveling across the world to get help from top experts hoping to repair the damage done to so many of her internal systems.
However, after a long, valiant, yet painful battle, they’ve decided that the most merciful decision now is to put her on hospice and help her be as comfortable as possible as her life soon comes to an end at only 19 years old.
Gracelyn’s heartbreaking story has been chronicled in news reports over the years, but especially on her mother’s social media account here.
As the family processed this heartbreaking decision, Gracelyn was asked if there was anything she wanted to do before passing to help her feel that her life is complete. With only weeks to live, she came up with a list, and Amanda has been busy working with the community to help her requests be granted.
Grace is a talented artist and performer, and one of her dreams has been to have her music recorded and shared with the world. In short order, the community came together to help so many of her dreams come true including this one, and this is a video of the moment she heard her newly released album “Grace” played on the radio: |
