Weight Loss Wonders

Meet Holly Sedrick, Mindset Mastery Graduate:

Holly’s phase-one goal was an aspiration most of us can relate to: losing five pounds.

Following is her experience in her own words, about using the laws to lose weight and make healthy food choices for her family:

Using the Laws to Lose Weight

My first plan was to lose 5 pounds but I thought that it was too big and not inconsequential enough.

Then I tried winning a necklace, visualizing it and getting excited about it, really feeling it, but when it didn’t happen, I got a little discouraged and then found out it was also not inconsequential enough.

For a few weeks I worked on seeing three aces or three people wearing red shirts together, but I couldn’t get my heart into it. I looked for it and believed it would happen but I got nowhere with it.

I started thinking, maybe I don’t understand the difference between belief and faith. So I did a little studying.

Belief (passive)=An opinion or judgement in which a person is fully persuaded.

Faith (active)=Includes belief and requires action. If it doesn’t move us to do something, it is not really faith at all, just a bunch of words.

Belief+Action+Confidence=Faith

I BELIEVED these laws that Leslie was teaching about, but had I been practicing FAITH in them?

A month or so later, while trying to work on [other goals], I had forgotten the first goal I set to lose five pounds. I was looking back through my notes when I noticed that I had written that down. But I had thought it was not the right kind of goal for phase-one, and had set it aside.

While I was focusing on those other goals, a program for resetting your metabolism showed up in my life, which is something I usually ignore, but this time I took it. I believe because I was working on changing my “frequency,” that I tuned into the right “station,” and this program showed up as a result. It was what I needed at the right time and not only did I lose five pounds, but five more went with it!

Asking the Critical Question

Because she wasn’t sure if losing the five pounds should count or not, Holly contacted me with a question I hear a lot. As I share my conversation with Holly below, I hope to help others understand the objective of the Mindset Mastery goals:

Holly: Is losing the five pounds worthy as my midterm, or do I need to go back and work on the more inconsequential goals?

Leslie: The most important thing is how you feel about the assignment. The goal is to come away from this first assignment feeling more capable, and seeing a direct connection between the way you thought and what showed up. If that was accomplished, then you can move forward with newly established mental muscle memory to apply to the phase-two experiment. Do you feel like that was accomplished?

Holly: Yes, I do. I didn’t realize I had written about it and really put thought into it, but later brushed it aside thinking it was too much too soon. I didn’t think much about it until I went back in my journal and saw what I had written…. I realized that I have to have my heart in it (emotion) or it just feels useless and unimportant. I was just a little surprised at how it all happened. I didn’t notice it until I sat down and really thought about it.

The Power to Change Eating Choices

For Holly’s phase-two goal, she continued to tackle healthy eating habits. Following is the story, in her own words, of how she used the laws to transform not just her own health, but the health of her family as well.

After I finished the reset program, which included eating a much healthier diet, and resulted in the weight loss I was seeking in Phase1, and also had other effects of less brain fog and more energy, I really wanted to maintain that way of healthy eating.

The program had 3 weeks of menus all planned out for you but while it was effective for me temporarily, it wasn’t something that was conducive to keep up for my whole family. So for my phase 2 goal I really wanted to create a meal plan incorporating what I had learned and adding more fruits and veggies into our diet.

I wrote out my goal, tweaking it several times to make sure there was no wording that would sabotage my efforts. I wrote it down almost every day as per the assignment. I even went back and wrote the deeper reasons why. I found that writing it down and reading it every day was the easy part. Taking action was another thing altogether.

Between not knowing where to start, and just hoping to magically have it all come together, I procrastinated doing anything— a pattern I noticed that I do a lot. After a month of this, it was getting close to my deadline of the class. I started wondering if this was the terror Barrier for me?

I decided I had to do something, even if it was little. Step by step, little by little, I figured out a method that will work for me. So far, I have not eaten white sugar since January, I have lost 18 pounds, and I am eating healthier. My mind is clearer and I have more energy.

Wow Holly. I am impressed that you have been able to use the Laws of Thought not only lose weight, but to have more energy and clearer thoughts. These improvements will lead to even better use of the laws of thought, which will lead to even more improved health. You are on an upward spiral!

At the end of her Mindset Mastery Program, Holly left us with this:

I thought this Mindset mastery class would be more about money, but I have found that I can use these laws for any part of my life that I want to improve. It has opened my mind to the possibilities and provided a practical application of these laws. I am excited to keep moving forward with my current goal and to work on others that I have written down. I am grateful for all this course has taught me.

In truth, entire families benefit whenever a Mom and/or Dad learns and practices the principles.

Again, congratulations, Holly! You did an amazing job!

What’s YOUR story going to be? I want to see YOU graduate, too!

Learn more about the Mindset Mastery program HERE.

In the Mindset Mastery program, students are instructed on the laws and principles that activate unseen help. That unseen help orchestrates resources, connections, and/or impressions that nudge the students toward all they need to realize their goal. In Phase one, they practice what they’ve learned on an inconsequential goal – something NOT connected to anything they’re intensely concerned about. This helps them experience success without undue stress, to build the mental muscle memory they need to apply what they learn, and to succeed with a goal of greater significance in phase-two.

It’s been years since I attended a class from Leslie. This article made me smile, remembering how I used the principles she taught me to win a $500 cash prize at a fair put on by our electric co-op, as an experiment.
I know these are working principles that change lives!
Thanks for sharing with me. I need to reboot my thought processes at this time and work toward more worthy goals in my life!
