Fake Optimism isn’t Necessary

When you begin to study the laws of success, it’s natural to conclude that you have to think optimistically at all times… But constant optimism isn’t necessary – it actually isn’t really even possible. Without an emotional dip now and then, you’d never know a good day when you had one. Even tough times contain benefits. Families across the world are scaling back and focusing on things that matter most like: Family, faith, hope… And if the economy necessitated this change, then even a bad economy is something to be grateful for. The world is full of illusions. Many people are being tested right now to see if they will cling to truth

When You Feel Confused and Don’t Know What To Do… Pick Your Picnic

“John, aren’t you going to put on your seatbelt?” “Why, are we going to get into a crash?” “No, but seatbelts save lives…” John retorted, “Seatbelts don’t save lives.” “Of course they do!” His friend explained, “Once, I was driving with my family and something told me to make sure everyone was wearing their seatbelts. So we all belted up, and just as we turned a corner, there was another vehicle coming at us in our lane. Even though it was a head-on collision, we all survived because of those seatbelts!” John was firm, “No, the seatbelts didn’t save your life, whatever told you to put them on saved your life.” A decade has passed since

Box Fan Miracle

Let me tell you about a guy I know and the unexpected (and surprising) miracle that showed up after he taped a box fan to the front of his personal motor coach… His name is John. John was traveling with some business guys in a large and very expensive rig. It was important for him to get to a meeting where he was to be the key speaker. However, as they motored along, he realized that the engine temperature was beginning to rise. One of his passengers was concerned that John was going to ruin the engine if he didn’t just pull over and wait for help. John knew plenty about auto repair, but just didn’t have the tools. Also

Stop the World – I want to Get Off!

Has life become so fast paced that you’ve gotten sucked up into the whirlwind of it all, feeling totally out of control? Do you feel like you can’t stop long enough to catch your breath, and are you racing on life’s treadmill that often seems to be going nowhere? At some point you have to ask yourself, “What’s the point??” Even if you have a pretty good sense of what life is all about, and you are confident about its purpose, you can fall into the trap of living frantically day in and day out to meet deadlines, obligations, and expectations. When you’ve had enough of that, and something inside you says, “You were born for

Gurus are Human

I received an email this week that spawned an interesting conversation. I’ll share it here. Hector wrote: How are your teachings different from all the dozens of gurus advertising out there? I’m genuinely confused by inconsistencies from the gurus. For example, Wattles wrote books about health and riches and then he died at 53, lost his bid for public office and to my knowledge he was still scrambling economically. The author of Science of Miracles, Max Long Freedom committed suicide due to leg cancer while his group was in disarray and his wife left him. Arthur Ray is in jail. I honestly would like to

I didn’t trust God

I received an email the other day that was SO appreciated; here’s why: Even though I may have “written the book” on it, I still have to learn and re-learn the principles over and over again. (Yes, it’s true.) This is why: When I stop practicing them, I begin to doubt them. When I decide to apply myself to them again, I have to get back to that innocent, child-like faith – and it’s not always so easy to do. So to hear a story like this (below) helps me remember to keep it simple, and just trust. I hope that my sharing it with you will do the same for you: “Hi Leslie, Thanks so much for all of this amazing stuff. You probably hear stories like the
