The Law of Cause and Effect states that in nature every cause has an effect and every effect has a cause. Nothing happens by chance. Newton said that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. When I take a step toward something then it takes a step toward me.

So, if I have a worthy goal, every action I take toward my goal causes my goal to move towards me. I have always felt I wanted and needed to serve my fellow man. However, being financially strapped all the time, I often forsook service opportunities because I was "having to work" or in a hurry to another meeting.

I have recently come to understand that the true law of abundance and success is to stay in the NOW and serve whomever I am with to the best of my ability. My daily prayer is also that whomever the Lord wants me to serve in whatever capacity will come into my life and that I will have the wisdom to act when the opportunity arises having absolute knowledge that my acts of goodness will come back to me by law and provide me with what I need when I need it.

Prior to Christmas last year my home teaching assignment in my church was changed to include three very needy families. I was irritated because I felt I couldn't help these families because I myself was 'just over broke.' I was praying about how I might help these families and the answer came to me to go visit them and I would find out. I found these families unable to provide any of the Christmas "joy" that they wanted for their kids. As I focused on their needs and asked for help, the Lord led me to those who could provide money or anything else I might need for these families.

After about three weeks, we had been able to provide just about everything we needed for these families. These single mothers wept with joy and gratitude for these blessings they had received. During this time, I was not truly focused on my new business and we weren't sure how we were going to pay for our own Christmas. About one month before Christmas, we had a windfall of sales close and we had everything we needed for our Christmas as well as living expenses to get us through half of February. I now look for opportunities to serve because I have a better understanding of this law of the harvest.
