Post Surgery
Sep 21, 2023
Unexpected surprise… first of all the surgeon wasn’t really planning to cut the node out, let alone 3 (I thought she said 2 yesterday but I guess I heard wrong) …because it was sitting right on a main artery. But with the encouragement of the surgical oncologist, she took them out and sent them to pathology.
All three just came back as benign, even the one we’ve been trying to shrink since March.
It feels better having it gone, even though it was already deemed non-cancerous on the pet scan.
They plan to send me home today. Not feeling completely ready, because pain is a challenge and my repaired system is struggling to wake up and do its job.
