Last week, the phone rang, and my 14-year-old son answered. I heard him say, “Hello? ...Uh, yeah, just a minute.” Then he turned to me with a quirky look and said, “A really HAPPY Kevin is on the phone for you.”

After I hung up, he couldn’t help but ask: “Mom, why was he SO happy??”

I just smiled… because honestly, there wasn’t any one big reason—except that Kevin spends his days helping people create automatic, portable incomes. He’s doing meaningful work that changes lives, and he has every reason to be happy.

There was a time when he put his life on the line for a living (literally—you should hear those stories!), but now his work is safe, flexible, lucrative, and incredibly fulfilling.

The bottom line is: he loves what he does.

And it shows. His happiness is contagious. Even just five seconds of his cheerful energy on the phone left an impression on my son.

It got me thinking...

How do you answer the phone? Do people feel lighter, brighter, or more uplifted after talking to you?

It’s something to think about. Today, try putting a smile on someone’s face—just by the way you speak to them.
