50 Days of Joy

The Law of Vibration has honestly been such a fun one for me to play around with. It basically says that your thoughts control your personal vibration. When you think something and then add emotion to it—that’s the energy you’re sending out, and that’s what you attract back.
One time, we were on a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, and we took this adventurous boat tour that included snorkeling, exploring lava tubes, and—hopefully—spotting some dolphins or sea animals. As we were stepping onto the boat, I set a very clear intention: I really wanted to see dolphins up close.
So I closed my eyes and imagined them—dolphins swimming and jumping all around our boat. I could feel the joy and excitement of seeing them. I even pictured my kids squealing with delight at the magical little show we were getting. And then I said, “I am so happy and grateful we got to see the Dolphins play today.” After that, I just let it go and enjoyed the trip.
By the end of the tour, we hadn’t seen any dolphins. But instead of being disappointed, I said a prayer of thankfulness for the amazing day we had as a family and the cool experiences we did get to have.
And then—just before we reached shore—the captain got a message that dolphins were up and playing in a nearby bay. So we detoured into the bay and, sure enough, there they were—dolphins swimming all around us, jumping in and out of the water. It was even better than I had imagined. My kids were over the moon, and we had the best time.
I’ve used this law in all kinds of ways—finding lost items, discovering the perfect birthday gift for one of my kids, even getting a fridge/freezer for free. And as long as I don’t entertain doubt (that’s where the Law of Perpetual Transmutation comes in), whatever I’m seeking eventually shows up (cue the Law of Gestation). So far, it has happened every single time.
The key really is emotion. It’s the emotion that shifts your vibration and sends out that invisible signal—a wave of energy that reaches out and aligns you with what you’re tuned into.
I actually tested this in a more structured way. I did an experiment for about three months, where I documented 50 days of it and shared daily on social media. I called it “100 Days of Joy” (I ended up taking a social media fast at day 50, so I didn’t finish it online, but the impact stuck with me). The whole point was: no matter what kind of day I was having—good, bad, or totally chaotic—I had to find something joyful in it. I couldn’t mention or dwell on the bad, not even to other people. At first, it was hard.
For example, I’d walk into a total disaster of a house and my first instinct was to yell at everyone to start cleaning. But instead, I focused on what was good—I praised my kids for playing so well together. Or when I was feeling down about all the things I didn’t get done, I’d list out everything I had accomplished.
Choosing joy on purpose completely shifted my vibration. After a few weeks, it became second nature to find the good in everything. I noticed less fighting at home. My kids started playing better together. Even my husband began spending more time doing activities with the kids and with me.
It’s been about seven months since that experiment, and I’m still seeing the ripple effects. I’ve learned how to look past the negatives and really see the good in our daily life—and more importantly, in my family. One time, I asked my six-year-old to clean his room, and not long after, he came back just glowing with pride. I checked his room, and the floor was totally covered—except for a little path from the door to the bed. And I praised him! I told him what a great job he had done.
My husband thought I was nuts. In the past, I would have criticized him and made him do it all over again. But this time, I celebrated the effort. And now? That same six-year-old can clean and organize his whole room all by himself. I used to scream and yell to get things done, but now I just point out the good, and that’s what gets repeated. It’s honestly a way more peaceful path to the result I’m after.
We all have the power to shift our vibration to match what we’re seeking. Learning and applying this law has changed everything for me—my relationships, my mindset, even the way I go after big goals. It works for everything.
